Community Disaster Assistance Resources

Information for people impacted by July 11, 2025 flash flooding and storm damage

  1. Quad Cities Community Foundation (QCCF) is currently accepting donations to support local nonprofits assisting those through the Quad Cities Disaster Recovery Fund. Additional organizations, such as the Salvation Army and American Red Cross, are also accepting contributions.
  2. Scott Count Emergency Management Commission declared a State of Emergency for the county and Governor Reynolds issued a disaster proclamation this afternoon, which allow state resources to be used in recovery efforts. Specifically, this activates the Iowa Individual Assistance Grant Program and the Disaster Case Advocacy Program for counties under the proclamation. The Iowa Individual Assistance Grant Program provides grants of up to $7,000 for households with incomes up to 200% of the federal poverty level. Grants are available for home or car repairs, replacement of personal property, or food and temporary housing expenses. Original receipts are required for those seeking reimbursement for expenses related to storm recovery. The grant application and instructions are available on the Iowa Department of Homeland Security and Emergency Management website. Residents have 45 days from the date of the proclamation to apply.
  3. Officials are still assessing damage, but at least 30+ homes and several apartment complexes were devastatingly impacted. Officials are struggling to identify total damage since they can’t see into basements and are uncertain which cars were damaged since the water receded. There may be a community survey coming to better assess damage.
