Popeye was originally created by Elzie Segar and Bud Sagendorf took over when Segar died at the age of 43. This strip follows the life and times of Popeye as he struggles against problems that everyday people find difficult. Popeye’s daily adventures are chronicled as he squares off against Brutus, rescues and tries to woo Olive, and hangs around Wimpy.
