EDGAR, or Electronic Data Gathering, Analysis, and Retrieval, is a government database. It allows you to search for real-time filings. This site works best if you have a specific company that you want to research.

Google Scholar

Google Scholar can search for papers that have been published about business (and other topics). You can find business research leads and information. Search for keywords to see what articles have been published and what data sources they utilize. Not all sources will be available but you can see what resources are relevant. 

GuideStar

GuideStar

GuideStar can be used to search for nonprofit organizations by name, location, and subject categories such as arts, culture and humanities, education and research, or environment and animals. Some financial data are included as well as overviews of each organization, key personnel, and US Internal Revenue Service (IRS) 990s, which contain information about top-paid executives and outside consultants for the organization among other information.
