Immerse yourself in all things Twenties. This October, Davenport Public Library will be celebrating The Great Gatsby - the title selected for The Big Read.

Join us to talk about it! Watch the movie! Dance the Charleston! Learn about Jazz Age art! Groove to jazz melodies!

There will be:

  • Film viewings 
  • a Roaring 20's party
  • a walking tour of Jazz Age art at the Figge
  • a jazz workshop at the River Music Experience
  • a jazz concert at the River Music Experience

Big Read Keynote

Join us for a Keynote Session on F. Scott Fitzgerald and The Great Gatsby, led by Kirk Curnutt of the F. Scott Fitzgerald Society. Kirk Curnutt is professor and chair of English at Troy University's Montgomery campus in Montgomery, Alabama. He is vice-president of the F. Scott Fitzgerald Society and a board member of the Scott and Zelda Fitzgerald Museum in Montgomery. He serves as managing editor of the Fitzgerald Society's F. Scott Fitzgerald Review, published annually by Penn State University Press, and is also a trustee of the Ernest Hemingway Foundation and Society.
