Tiny Titans

Baltazar, Art, and Franco Aureliani. Tiny Titans: Adventures in Awesomeness. DC Comics: New York, 2009. Print.

Tiny Titans cover

Tiny Titans is created by DC Comics and as a result, the characters serve as alternate versions of DC Universe characters from the Teen Titans series. This comic follows the lives of the Tiny Titans as they go through school, family events, and hang out with their friends. Most of the comics take place within an elementary school environment with parents and authority figures, usually only shown from the waist down with the exception of Alfred the butler and some other adults. This comic also contains references to various popular culture events and other jokes within the DC Universe that adults and older readers are sure to grasp.

Visual and textual style: colorful, simple, easy to follow form panel to panel, traditional panel layout, lighthearted, minimal text, soft lines, bright colors, action words instead of motion lines/marks

Potential readers/appeal factors: kid-friendly, small amount of text on each page, people interested in superhero comics(the kids’ parents are superheroes and are present in strips), the book is individual shorter stories and not a long-form narrative the length of the whole book, all ages
