Sioux City Public Museum Research CenterThe Museum's three-dimensional collections at the Research Center cover a wide spectrum of material culture of the region's history starting with its indigenous inhabitants to present day objects. These collections include Native American objects, transportation equipment, clothing and accessories, firearms, military memorabilia, tools and equipment, pioneer artifacts, furniture, radios, office equipment, appliances, dishes and cookware, photographic equipment, toys, and Sioux City related artifacts.
Manuscript collections or archival materials in the Research Center include newspaper articles, obituaries, personal papers, business papers, books, blueprints, maps, oral history interviews, scrapbooks, diaries, photographs, and many other types of media. Subjects range from people to businesses to events regarding Sioux City and the region.
